IT Head:

POSITION: IT HEAD

REPORTS TO: The Assistant Director

SUPERVISES: ITStaff

JOB GOAL: To install, operate and maintain effective and efficient IT services as a catalyst of JIS/JKIS administration and the educational program, and ensure maximum access to technology services and resources.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

  1. Manages IT Staff and computer systems.
  2. Coordinates with staff for IT maintenance and reports its status.
  3. Plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) in the school.
  4. Develops and implements policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development.
  5.  4. Manages IT personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems.
  6. Monitors the software license and its renewal.
  7. Liaises with school external providers on issues pertaining to school technology and equipment.
  8. Ensures that technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
  9. Troubleshoots hardware, software, all technology issues, and network operating systems.
  1. Provides orientation to new users of existing technology.
  2.   Maintains current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources.
  3. Maintains a schedule of required repairs and maintenance.
  4. Makes recommendations about purchase of technology resources.
  5. Researches current and potential resources and services.
  6. Provides network access to all staff and students.
  7. Prepares and proposes design for the school yearbook, handbook, booklets and other school publishing materials.
  8. Connects and sets up hardware.
  9.  Monitors security of all technology.
  10.  Installs and maintains foolproof passwords.
  11.  Advises staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status.
  12.  Ensures installation of lock out programs.
  13. Identifies and prepares hardware for disposal when appropriate.
  14. Ensures hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
  15. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  16. Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Assistant Director.

System Administrator:

POSITION: SYSTEM ADMINSTRATOR

REPORTS TO: The Assistant Director

SUPERVISES: Staff members as designated by the Assistant Director

JOB GOAL: To manage and provide technical assistance to, and expert advice on, all Information Management Programs in the School.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

  1. Protects the organization’s integrity by maintaining strict confidentiality for all the school’s systems and data bases.
  2. Responsible for all system and software maintenance
  3. Liaises with Staff, Engage and Ed-Admin System Providers on all relevant questions and concerns to ensure efficient and uninterrupted service.
  4. Trains and supports respective users in the use and functions of the school’s Engage and Ed-Admin Program
  5. Provides regular training for staff and faculty as directed by the Assistant Director in the use of computers and the school’s systems.

Establishes system specifications by conferring with the Director, Assistant Director and relevant parties; analyzes work flow, access, information security requirements and then

  1. designs an appropriate and adequate system infrastructure.
  2. Provides all necessary training and ongoing support to all staff.
  3. Establishes system integrity once approved by the Director and Assistant Director, by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks and operating and systems management and defining and advising the Director and Assistant director on operational policies and procedures.
  4. Submits to the Director and Assistant Director, a monthly report on the status of systems’ operations and a maintenance schedule for all the school’s Administration systems.

Website Administrator:

POSITION: WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR

  1. In-charge of the weekly updated on the website
  2. Ensure that the latest event and news is updated

is to maintain, back up and update existing websites for organizations. responsible for making sure the site’s user interface is easy to understand and efficient.  ensure that all websites are operating securely and at optimum speeds. Approval of the content and links within the website description, and  responsible for evaluating website’s analytics, such as user feedback and traffic.
