Welcome to Networking Essentials

Networks are the invisible fabric that connects everything we do — from sending a message to streaming a class. This course takes you from zero to a confident understanding of how modern networks are built and operated, using the same layered approach used by industry programs such as the Cisco Networking Academy.

You will work through five modules. Each module contains a detailed reading lesson followed by a short knowledge-check quiz. When you finish all five, you sit a comprehensive final certification exam. Your progress and results are recorded automatically in your student dashboard.

The layered models that let engineers design, build, and troubleshoot networks in a structured way.

Module 3 — IP Addressing & Subnetting
How devices are logically addressed, and how large networks are divided into efficient subnets.

Module 4 — Devices, Ethernet & Switching
The hardware that moves frames on a LAN and how switches make forwarding decisions.

Module 5 — Network Services & Security
The services that make networks usable (DNS, DHCP) and the fundamentals of keeping them safe.

Practice Exam
Extra practice drawn from a 62-question bank. Every attempt serves 15 randomised questions with a 30-minute timer and unlimited retries — sharpen up before your final certification exam.

Final Certification Exam
A comprehensive exam covering all five modules. You must score 70% or higher to pass and complete the course.
